Products that have weevils in them are not eligible for replacement as food authorities like the Singapore Food Agency usually regard them as natural and unavoidable substances that do not pose health hazards to consumers with no known illness or negative side effects if ingested.
Weevils are a type of beetle that occur mainly in the tropics and can be commonly found in stored products like grains, rice, flour, and other dry goods. Weevils, whether in larval or adult stage, are not harmful to human beings as they are not known to spread any disease/infection or bite people. The occurrence of weevils is not a result of contamination during the manufacturing or packaging process, but rather an unfortunate consequence of the insects' natural habitat and behavior.
If you find weevils in your products, you may remove them and the product is fit for consumption thereafter.
